Discover the sacred teachings of the cue and the table.
In the beginning, the table was formless and empty, and darkness was over the surface of the felt. And the Spirit of Cue was hovering over the table. And the Lord of Cue said, "Let there be balls," and there were balls. The Lord saw that the balls were good, and He separated the balls from the empty table. [1:1]
The Lord of Cue said, "Let there be light balls and dark balls," and there were light balls and dark balls. The Lord saw that it was good. [1:2]
And the Lord of Cue said, "Let there be a cue to guide the balls in their paths," and it was so. The Lord made the cue, crafting it from the finest wood, straight and true. The Lord saw that it was good. [1:3]
And the Lord of Cue said, "Let the game begin with the break," and the players did break. The balls scattered across the table, and from the chaos, order began to emerge. The Lord saw that it was good. [2:1]
Thus the table and the balls were completed in all their vast array. By the seventh day, the Lord had finished the work He had been doing; so on the seventh day, He rested from all His work. [2:2]
Then the Lord of Cue blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it He rested from all the work of creating that He had done. And the Lord of Cue said, "These are the laws by which you shall play: Pot your balls in their designated pockets, respect your opponent, and strive for excellence in every shot." [2:3]
And the Lord of Cue said, "The eight ball is both friend and foe. If you sink it too soon, you shall lose. But if you sink it last, after all your other balls are potted, you shall win and be victorious." [3:1]
Now the players practiced day and night, learning to control the cue ball and master the shots. The Lord of Cue watched over them and saw that they were dedicated to the game. [3:2]
The players gathered together, sharing their knowledge and experiences. They held tournaments to test their skills, and the Lord of Cue was pleased with their fellowship. [3:3]
And it came to pass that the players began to teach others, spreading the knowledge of the game far and wide. New players joined their ranks, and the game of pool flourished. [4:1]
The players who mastered the game were called Wise Ones. They were revered for their skill and knowledge. The Lord of Cue spoke to them, saying, "Teach others what you have learned, for the true master is known by their ability to inspire." [4:2]
The Wise Ones traveled to distant lands, demonstrating their prowess and teaching the sacred art of pool. They wrote books and created guides, preserving their knowledge for future generations. [4:3]
The game of pool spread across the world, and players remained united in their love for the game. They created clubs and leagues, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie. The Lord of Cue smiled upon them. [5:1]
The Lord of Cue gathered the players and said, "You have done well, my disciples. You have spread the knowledge of the game and created a lasting legacy. Remember the lessons you have learned and honor the table and the cue." [5:2]
And the Lord of Cue said, "The game of pool is a reflection of life. It is a test of skill, strategy, and patience. It teaches us to think ahead, to adapt, and to respect our opponents. Carry these lessons with you in all you do." [5:3]
With these final words, the Lord of Cue ascended, leaving the players to continue their journey. The Book of Cues was complete, a testament to the sacred game of pool and its enduring wisdom. And the players followed its teachings, finding joy and enlightenment in the game. [5:4]
